The west side is essentially Linslade and the residential streets between the canal and the railway line. Linslade has its own identity and locals will correct you if you call it Leighton Buzzard. There is a recreation ground, a church, and a small row of shops but daily life is still tied to the main Leighton Buzzard high street. The streets are more established here, lots of 1930s semis and some larger detached properties towards Old Linslade. The canal towpath is a nice walking route into town. Families like it for the lower schools on this side.
