Little Baddow is a small, well-off Essex village tucked between Danbury and the River Chelmer. There's a church, a village hall, and a cricket club, but no shop or pub. You drive to Danbury for a pint of milk and to Chelmsford for everything else. The real draw is the surroundings. Blake's Wood is National Trust, Little Baddow Common has proper heathland walks, and Paper Mill Lock on the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation is a lovely spot. Housing is mostly large detached places on generous plots, the sort of lanes where every driveway has two cars. It's quiet, properly rural, and noticeably moneyed without being showy about it.
