Park Street is a long, thin settlement that follows the old Watling Street south from St Albans towards the M25. It has a station on the Abbey line (a single-track branch to Watford Junction), which gives it a rail connection of sorts, though the service is slow and infrequent. The housing is mostly post-war, with 1950s and 60s semis and some bungalows. Frogmore, at the southern end, blurs into it. There are a few local shops, a pub, and a primary school. It is a functional, affordable alternative to St Albans city, popular with young families priced out of the centre. The proximity to the motorway junction is a plus if you commute by car and a minus if you value peace and quiet.
