Maldon East covers the newer residential development on the eastern side of town, built in phases over the last few decades as the town expanded. It is a practical area: the housing is a mix of detached and semidetached that appeals to families looking for space at a price that does not break the bank. The town centre is reachable on foot or by bike along residential roads that are pleasant enough. Schools locally are solid and there are small local shops that handle daily needs. It does not have a village green or a high street, but that is not what people are here for. The estuary is close enough to feel present without being on the doorstep. This is honest, comfortable residential Maldon.
