Westbrook sits between Margate and Westgate-on-Sea along the coast. It has its own sandy bay, which is quieter than Margate main sands and popular with families in summer. The housing is a mix of Edwardian and interwar, with some bungalows closer to the clifftop. There's a small row of shops and a pub or two but nothing that constitutes a proper high street. It feels like a buffer zone between the bustle of Margate and the quieter feel of Westgate. Families with young kids tend to like it for the beach access without the Margate crowds.
