Much Hadham is one of the prettier villages in East Hertfordshire. The high street is a long, winding stretch of listed buildings, timber-framed houses, and Georgian frontages. The Bishop's Palace (now private) and the forge where Henry Moore had his studio give it a cultural weight that most villages this size lack. There is a village shop, a pub, and the Henry Moore Foundation draws visitors to Perry Green just outside the village. The primary school is good and the community is active. Housing is expensive for what you get, reflecting the fact that people pay a premium for the character. Bishop's Stortford is the nearest town for supermarkets, the station, and secondary schools.
