Pulborough has a useful high street with a Co-op, a pharmacy, a couple of pubs, and a butcher. Housing is a mix of period cottages near the centre and newer estates on the edges. Coldwaltham is a small hamlet to the west, very quiet and rural. Amberley is the standout, a picture-postcard village with thatched cottages, a castle (now a hotel), and its own station on the Arun Valley line. Pulborough Brooks RSPB reserve sits between them, which is a real draw if you like walking or birdwatching. Property in Amberley commands a premium. Pulborough itself is more affordable and more practical. You need a car for most things beyond basics.
