Downhall and Rawreth

Downhall sits on the western edge of Rayleigh where the town gives way to open countryside around Rawreth. Rawreth itself is a small hamlet with a village hall and not much else, but it gives the area a more rural feel than you would expect this close to the A127. Housing is a mix of older properties along Rawreth Lane and newer estates. You are reliant on the car for most things, though Rayleigh station is not far. It suits people who want to feel slightly out of town without actually being in the sticks.
