Queenborough is a small harbour town with a creek, a castle site, and a cluster of old houses around the quay. It has more character than you would expect. The guildhall is a proper historic building. Halfway, further along the road toward Sheerness, is newer and more suburban, with estates built from the 1960s onward. The two are quite different in feel but get grouped together. Queenborough station is on the branch line. This is affordable Sheppey without the seaside grit of Sheerness itself.
