Upper Halliford is mostly 1930s semis and some post-war housing along the Green Lane corridor. Lower Halliford, closer to the Thames, has some larger detached houses and a different feel, leafier and more tucked away. The Sunbury West end blurs into Sunbury proper and has a fairly standard suburban character. There is a small parade of shops on Russell Road but nothing that counts as a high street. Families use it as affordable Surrey without the price tag of the riverside villages further upstream.
