Marshalswick

Marshalswick is a desirable residential area to the north-east of St Albans centre, developed mainly in the 1930s through to the 1960s. The houses are generous by modern standards, mostly detached and semi-detached with good-sized gardens. Marshalswick has its own small parade of shops and a strong community feel, with residents who tend to stay for decades. The streets are tree-lined and well maintained. It's popular with families who want more space than the Victorian streets closer to town can offer, without losing the St Albans postcode. Sherwood Park is a pleasant local green space.
