Staines

The town centre ward covering the high street, the Elmsleigh Centre, and surrounding residential streets. Staines station has direct trains to Waterloo and is on the Windsor line too. The high street has the usual chains plus a decent market. There are some nice spots along the Thames near the bridge, and the Memorial Gardens are pleasant. Housing close to the centre is a mix of Victorian terraces, some 1960s blocks, and newer riverside flats. It gets busy and can be noisy on weekend evenings. Not the prettiest town centre in Surrey, but it works and the transport links are the main draw.
