Stanford-le-Hope West

The western part of town includes the older village centre around St Margaret's church and the high street. This is where you will find the more characterful housing, some Victorian and Edwardian terraces mixed in with later infill. The station is here, which makes it the more convenient side for commuters. The high street is functional rather than charming but covers the basics. London Gateway's development has brought some new employment nearby, though the visual impact of the port infrastructure is noticeable from parts of the area.
