Greenhithe has two quite different sides. The old village by the river has a handful of period cottages, the Pier Hotel, and views across to Thurrock. Then there is the Ingress Park development on the old cement works site, which is all modern apartments and townhouses right on the Thames. Knockhall sits slightly inland and is more traditional suburban housing. Greenhithe station has services to London Bridge and Cannon Street, and Ebbsfleet International is a short drive or bus ride away for high-speed to St Pancras in about 17 minutes. Bluewater is practically on the doorstep, which handles all the shopping you could need. The old village has some charm but the area overall is defined by the new-build developments and the proximity to the Dartford Crossing, which means traffic noise is a fact of life.
