The Pantiles is the jewel in the Tunbridge Wells crown. The Georgian colonnade with its independent boutiques, restaurants and cafes is genuinely attractive and feels nothing like a typical Kent high street. The Chalybeate Spring is still there, the bandstand hosts events, and on a summer evening it has a continental feel. Housing nearby is a mix of Georgian townhouses, Victorian villas, and some newer apartments, all at a premium. Tunbridge Wells Common stretches out behind, which gives the area a leafy, expansive feeling. It's where the money in town gravitates.
