Hersham has a proper village green and a small parade of shops along the main road that give it a distinct identity from Walton. The Green is the centre of things, with a pub, a few independents, and an active community association. Housing is a mix of 1930s semis, some Victorian cottages near the centre, and newer estates further out. Hersham station has trains to Waterloo. It's one of those places that works well for families who want a recognisable community without paying Esher or Cobham prices. The annual fair on the green is a big deal locally.
