Walton Central

The Heart shopping centre dominates central Walton, a modern redevelopment that replaced the old high street layout. It has a Waitrose, an M&S, and the usual chains, plus a decent cinema. The original high street either side of it still has some independents and restaurants. Walton station is right here with a direct Waterloo service. Housing around the centre is a mix of Victorian terraces, conversion flats, and some newer apartment blocks. It's practical and well-connected, if not particularly pretty. The riverside area along Bridge Street and toward the Thames is the nicest bit for a walk.
