Wantage Charlton

Charlton is the southern residential edge of Wantage, sitting between the town centre and the rising ground of the downs. It's mostly post-war housing, a mix of council-built semis and some newer private estates. Charlton has its own primary school and a recreation ground. It's quieter and more suburban than the town centre, and you're closer to the Ridgeway walks. Less character than the villages but a straightforward, affordable part of Wantage for families.
