Vicarage takes its name from Vicarage Road, home of Watford FC. On match days the area transforms, with crowds filling the pubs and streets. The rest of the time it's a residential area of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, popular with young families and couples who want to be walkable to the town centre. The West Herts College campus is nearby. Streets close to the ground can be noisy on Saturdays but that's the trade-off. It's one of the more characterful parts of Watford, with a mix of housing that keeps prices accessible.
