Victoria is a transport hub first and foremost. The mainline station, the coach station, and the tube (Victoria, District, Circle lines) funnel commuters and tourists through all day. Victoria Street is mostly offices and hotels, though the Nova development has added some modern restaurants and retail. The residential streets west of the station towards the cathedral are quieter than you'd expect, with a mix of mansion flats and social housing. Westminster Cathedral (the Catholic one, red brick and striped) is an underappreciated landmark. Cardinal Place and the surrounding blocks have been redeveloped recently. It's a place of constant movement, not one with much stillness.
