Limehouse has a long history, from Chinatown before Chinatown moved west, to music halls, to the Docklands redevelopment. The Limehouse Basin marina is the centrepiece now, surrounded by converted warehouses and new-build flats. Narrow Street along the river is one of the best walks in east London, with The Grapes pub (once Dickens' local) still there. The DLR and the Elizabeth line serve it well. The housing is split between the riverside developments, which are pricey, and the older council estates further back. It has more character than most of the Docklands areas.
